Vanochtend heeft het team van BMW Sauber Nick Heidfeld en Robert Kubica bevestigd voor seizoen 2008. Kubica was al zo goed als zeker, maar nu zijn alle geruchten rond een vertrek van Heidfeld definitief de wereld uit.

Gisteren kon je in ons artikel Silly Season Part 1 nog lezen dat de bevestiging van Heidfeld slechts een kwestie van tijd was. Nog geen 24 uur later is die tijd alweer voorbij. Heidfeld pakte dit seizoen al een tweede (Canada) en derde plaats (Hongarije) en staat vijfde in het kampioenschap. Zijn teamgenoot Kubica staat zesde en maakte op Canada een hevig ongeval mee. Dankzij de goede resultaten van beide coureurs staat het team nu derde in het constructeurskampioenschap. Derde rijder Sebastian Vettel was al eerder bevestigd als rijder voor Toro Rosso.

    Ze hebben een uitstekend team, ik hoop dat ze volgend jaar ook echt voor het podium mee kunnen vechten. Want nu is het eigenlijk alleen hopen op uitvallers van Ferrari en Mclaren.
