Vandaag vond ik een topic dat ging over het contract van Sam en Dan Houser, ontwikkelaars van Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto. Zoals sommigen van jullie waarschijnlijk al weten, is Dan en Sam Houser hen contract sinds Februarie dit jaar verlopen. Gelukkig hebben ze besloten het contract te verlengen, dus blijven de broers voorlopig nog in het Team. Misschien is dit een beetje laate reactie, aangezien het topic al geplaatst was op Dec 18 2008, maar hiermee zal ik veel van jullie waarschijnlijk verassen. Ik zie dit topic namelijk vandaag voor het eerst.

Take-Two have announced that they have extended the contracts of Dan and Sam Houser as well as Grand Theft Auto IV producer, Leslie Benzies. Their originals contracts were set to expire in 2009 but will now last through until 2012.

Great news for Take-Two and especially gamers. Those hoping for Grand Theft Auto V though, may have to side-step as a new IP was also announced. The game will be controlled by key Rockstar Games team members and published by Take-Two, with no other details known at this stage.

Dat hoeft niet. Rockstar blijft, maar Sam en Dan Houser zullen verlaten. Wel heeft dit waarschijnlijk een invloed op de qualiteit van de Gta Serie

Take 2 heeft het aangekondigt, dus het lijkt me zeker geen fake bericht.

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Announces New Long-Term Agreements with Rockstar Games' Senior Creative Talent

New York, NY - December 17, 2008 - Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) today announced that it has established a new incentive compensation program for the Rockstar Games label that is primarily based on a profit sharing arrangement, and at the same time has entered into new long-term employment agreements with members of the creative team of its wholly-owned Rockstar Games publishing label. The new employment agreements have an initial term ending on January 31, 2012.

Among the Rockstar Games team members entering into new long-term employment agreements are Sam Houser, Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies, as well as several other key members of the creative team behind the renowned Grand Theft Auto series. This team has been instrumental in the development and success of Take-Two's extensive portfolio of multi-million unit internally owned franchises.

In addition, Take-Two has agreed to fund the future development of certain new intellectual property to be owned by a newly formed company controlled by key Rockstar Games team members and published exclusively by Take-Two.
