Na Black Ops, komt er waarschijnlijk Black Ops 2. Er is bevestigd dat er een paar domeinnamen zijn vernoemd naar Black Ops 2, en dit is gedaan door Activision zelf.

Vannacht is bekend geworden wat we eigenlijk al zelf hadden kunnen raden: dat Activision dit jaar waarschijnlijk Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 gaat aankondigen. Eind vorig jaar registreerde de grote uitgever diverse URL’s, van Black Ops 6 tot en met Modern Warfare 5. Allemaal om ervoor te zorgen dat EA niet weer stiekem de namen gaat registreren en laat linken naar Battlefield 3. Dat soort kinderachtig gedrag juichen we hier bij de PU *ahum* natuurlijk niet toe *kuch*.

www.blackops2.com bleef echter vrij tot vannacht. Dat kan twee dingen betekenen: of Acti had opnieuw moeite om de naam te bemachtigen óf ze doen het om alvast wat buzz te creëren bij goedgelovige gamejourna…uh, ik bedoel gevestigde gamejournalisten. Tenslotte is het dit jaar weer Treyarchs beurt om Bobby Kotick z’n geldbad te vullen. Black Ops staat nog steeds bovenaan in de multiplayerlijsten en zal dat de rest van het jaar waarschijnlijk blijven, zelfs met Modern Warfare 3. Is een nieuwe Call of Duty met de subtitel Black Ops 2 dus een gegeven?

We got good news for all of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Fans, it appears Activision has secretly acquired the domain name blackops2.com.

Now, the domain blackops2.com has moved from Domains by Proxy to the privacy service provided by internet brand protection company MarkMonitor, which Activision uses this service to protect their domains. Activision made this step after announcing that the next Call of Duty will be a direct sequel to Black Ops, this give a big chances that there will be Black Ops 2 in 2012.

De multiplayerbeelden die te zien zijn op internet zien er best verfrissend uit, leuk dat Treyard de laatste jaren vernieuwing toe brengt aan Call of Duty. Modern Warfare 3 was meer van hetzelfde, tuurlijk er waren nieuwe toevoegingen. Maar grotendeels deed het niet veel nieuws, daarom heb ik zin in Black Ops 2. Nog zo'n 3 maanden wachten tot we kunnen genieten van deze vernieuwende multiplayer en singleplayer.

Panicknifen is dus toch terug..?

Waarschijnlijk wel. De Knife die je in de multiplayer trailer zag is de Combat Knife. Deze heb je alleen op het moment dat je geen primary en secondary wapen hebt ingesteld (dus eigenlijk met niks rondloopt).

Het Kills/Pointstreak systeem heeft weer eens een andere naam gekregen: Scorestreak. Met de behaalde punten in een match speel je scorestreaks vrij. Je punten kan je verzamelen door bijvoorbeeld vijanden de vermoorden, vlaggen te veroveren en bommen te planten etc. Alle scorestreaks kan je hieronder bekijken samen met de wapens en perks.

Sentry Gun — 650 points — An automatic sentry gun which can be remote-controlled.

War Machine — 700 points — Grenade launcher with rapid, semi-automatic firing.

Dragonfire — 725 points — Remote-controlled quad-rotor with lightweight machine gun.

AGR — 800 points — Air drop an autonomous ground robot that searches for and destroys enemies and can be remote controlled.
