Bedrijf achter Roller Coaster Tycoon kondigt Planet Coaster aan

Frontier Developments, de studio achter onder meer RollerCoaster Tycoon en Zoo Tycoon, brengt in 2016 een nieuwe Tycoon-game uit: Planet Coaster. Het nieuws werd bekendgemaakt tijdens AMD's show op de E3-gamebeurs in Los Angeles.

Planet Coaster is een simulatiegame waarbij de speler zo goed mogelijk een pretpark van achtbanen moet opzetten. Volgens een kort nieuwsbericht op de site van ontwikkelaar Frontier moet het ook mogelijk zijn om de parkcreaties online te delen met andere spelers. Wat de verdere mogelijkheden van deze 'multiplayer'-modus zijn, is nog onduidelijk.

Het spel lijkt een rebrand van het eerder aangekondigde Coaster Park Tycoon. Voor pre-orders, de tegenwoordig bijna verplichte vroege bètatoegang en fysieke items, verwijst de maker naar de officiële gamesite.

Er zijn een aantal pre-order opties, je kan een normale Pre-order voor een voordeligere prijs dan normaal, £20, 'Early Bird Pass' kopen, dan krijg je bèta toegang tot het spel maar daar betaal je flink voor, £50. Een normale pre-order kost £20, maar voor £25 krijg je een aantal leuke extra's. En voor maar liefst £500 krijg je een Planet Coaster V.I.P 'foundation stone'.

Inmiddels staan de achtbaan en het station op de Steam Workshop.

Ik heb net de eerste achtbaan van het park afgemaakt. Hij is uiteraard ook te downloaden op de Steam Workshop via: Small Thunder Mountain.

Goed kijken.

Ben vandaag ook voor het eerst echt begonnen met een eigen park. (Ik had de alpha al, maar niet veel gespeeld...)

Nu verdien ik toch 4k per maand en heb ik ongeveer 50k geld. Zonder ooit een lening aangevraagd te hebben! Echt verslavend.
