Het was live bij de BET Awards, eerst kwam Busta Rhymes met Kelis ''I Love My Bitch'' doen, en daarna kwam de ''Touch It Remix'' met als speciale act op het einde, hij had speciaal voor dat optreden een nieuw stuk geschreven. Je hoort Busta op het einde ook zo roepen: Rest In Peace The Proof!

Rapper Eminem will go live on his Sirius Satellite Radio Channel, Shade 45, this Wednesday (Oct. 25) to premiere the new track from his forthcoming CD, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up.

Performed by rapper Stat Quo and produced by Dr. Dre, the new single, whose title hasn't been revealed yet, will be personally announced by Eminem, who will be live on the air with Lord Sear and Rude Jude - hosts of The All-Out Show.

Em will also be celebrating the second anniversary of Shade 45, the hip hop channel created by Eminem and SIRIUS that features G-Unit Radio Saturdays (hosted by DJ Whoo Kid) as well as such big name hosts as DJ Cipha Sounds, Clinton Sparks, DJ Kay Slay, the Aphilliates, DJ Muggs, DJ Tony Touch and many more.

Tune in tomorrow to Shade 454 at 4pm ET.

Just in time for the holidays, Eminem will drop Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, a compilation focused on new artists.

While recognizable folks like Eminem, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, D12, Obie Trice, and Akon are also featured on the album, it's main focus will be to shed some light on newcomers like Stat Quo, Ca$his, and Bobby Creekwater. The album features production from The Alchemist, who also compiled the album in true mixtape style.

The album, which initially began life as a street mixtape endeavor, complete with raw, unmixed tracks, has since been turned into an official album with more refined production values. "Instead of putting it out there rough and unfinished, I thought we should add some other new tracks, make it a real album, and put it in the record stores to give these new artists a real boost," says Eminem of his decision to release it.

Each of the tracks included makes their official CD debut here, although both Stat Quo's "Billion Bucks," and Obie Trice's "Cry Now" (Remix), were recently released on mixtapes and to radio. The first official single and video will be "You Don't Know" from Eminem, 50 Cent, Ca$his and Lloyd Banks.

Other tracks on the album include "No Apologies" from Eminem; "Talkin' All That" from Ca$his; "City Of Gold" from Bobby Creekwater; "Murder" from Bizarre and Kuniva (both of D12); and The "Smack That (Remix)" with Akon.

Mario Etheridge, de man die verantwoordelijk is voor de dood van D-12 rapper Proof, is gister veroordeeld voor zijn rol in de fatale schietpartij.

Etheridge werd gestraft met een boete van tweeduizend dollar. De 28-jarige man uit Detroit moest vorige maand al voorkomen wegens het illegaal dragen van een wapen en het afvuren van kogels in de nachtclub. Etheridge is nu op vrije voeten.

Voor het dragen van het wapen hangt Etheridge een gevangenisstraf van maximaal vijf jaar boven zijn hoofd, voor het gebruiken van hetzelfde wapen maximaal vier jaar.

Het vonnis dat gisteren werd uitgesproken vormt wederom een nieuw hoofdstuk in de zaak rondom het overlijden van Proof.

De 32-jarige rapper, geboren als Deshaun Holton, werd op 11 april 2006 net buiten nachtclub 'C.C.C.' in Detroit doodgeschoten door Etheridge. Even daarvoor had Proof uitsmijter Keith Bender (de neef van Etheridge) neergeschoten.

Etheridge is eveneens uitsmijter en is nog nooit veroordeeld geweest wegens een zwaar misdrijf. Eeder zat hij wel in de cel omdat hij zonder vergunning een wapen bezat.

Proof Killer Set Free

The bouncer who fatally shot D12 rapper PROOF was allowed to walk free yesterday after a judge sentenced Maril Etheridge to time served following his conviction last month.

Etheridge, who was ruled to have killed Proof in lawful self-defence, was sentenced in Michigan's Wayne Circuit Court to the six months he has already spent behind bars since the April incident, in addition to a $2,000 fine.

The 28-year-old - who has no prior record - faced a maximum penalty of five years in jail for gun possession and four years for the illegal firing of the weapon.

Judge: 50 Cent No Two-Bit Song Stealer

A judge has dismissed a copyright infringement lawsuit accusing rapper 50 Cent of stealing the opening line for his 2003 hit "In Da Club" from a song by former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell.

U.S. District Judge Paul C. Huck found Friday that the disputed phrase was a "common, unoriginal, and noncopyrightable element of the song" and was not entitled to copyright protection.

Moreover, outside of the opening phrase, there are almost no similarities between the works, and the phrase in question represents only eleven seconds of a more than three-minute song, the judge wrote. No reasonable jury would conclude that the compositions have substantial similarities and the average person would not confuse the two songs, the judge wrote.

The original lawsuit was filed in Miami federal court in January on behalf of Lil' Joe Wein Music against Curtis James Jackson, aka 50 Cent.

The lawsuit, filed by attorney Richard C. Wolfe, said 50 Cent only changed one word from the opening line of Campbell's song from "It's Your Birthday." After repeating the word "go" several times, "Sheila" becomes "shorty" in the line, "Go shorty, it's your birthday."

Campbell's song appeared on his 1994 solo album "Still a Freak for Life."

50 Cent's publicist, Yvette Gayle, said she had no comment Friday. A message left after hours at Richard Wolfe's office was not immediately returned. A telephone message left at a listing with a similar name to Lil' Joe Wein Music was also not immediately returned.

Lil' Joe Wein Music holds the copyright to "It's Your Birthday" and other songs Campbell produced with his rap group 2 Live Crew and as a solo artist.
