Op 1 april 2008 verscheen het bericht dat GTAForum.nl zou beginnen met het controleren van de leeftijd van al haar leden. Leden werd gevraagd aan te geven of ze meerderjarig waren, en zo niet, of ze toestemming van hun ouders/verzorgers om het forum te gebruiken hadden. Leden die aangezevn geen toestemming te hebben kwamen in de groep "Minderjarig" terecht, waardoor ze alleen de fora Feedback, GTAGames nieuws en Lifestyle konden zien.
